UDS SRC Bus Terminal Scandal : Dogoli Must Act Now or Never

 Most of the students have accused the former UDS student representative council executives of embezzlement, mismanagement and most of all the most corrupt administration ever witnessed, this is as a result of projects by SRC executives which cost the students around 45,000 Ghc (450 Million old Ghana cedi) did not meet the expected result.

The bus terminal project that received praise from the student population when the design was first published, at least the Lukman administration had something better to show when the office existed.

The expectation of the students was not met when a wooden structure was erected that would not cost Ghc 1000 for a cost of Ghc 45,000 (450 million old Ghana cedi), current and past students had been reacting and asked that the Lukman's former administration is prosecuted for mismanagement and embezzlement.

The aforementioned bus terminal could have been carried out by UDS partners as is done in KNUST, Legon and UCC or even by departmental association or better Telecom companies that have a partnership with the school or SRC at a much lower cost than what has been erected .

The former SRC public relations officer in an attempt to defend the project wrote;

The above site and project were approved by management after the contract was awarded. After several weeks of setting up the project, the contractor was advised to hold on and our attention was drawn to the fact that the approved space was too close to the road and did not have a parking area. It was after sober reflection that the space was small and that there was no parking could make the project a threat. We were directed to another space to relocate the bus terminal which was considered the taxi stand space designated by the architectural arrangements of the University, but the SRC did not have sufficient funds to immediately establish the taxi rank by itself. The SRC In its bid to ensure that the bus terminal fulfills its purpose, management asked management to allow the contractor to complete the project at the original site and use it until that the management establish a taxi station, then it would be moved since the structure is mobile, but this was not agreed. The SRC after several deliberations with management to move it to the taxi rank at the main entrance was frowned upon and advised to move the bus terminal to the sports complex to serve as booths, as the taxi rank at the entrance main was not the official bus stop for the school and had projects to carry out along this area. The management assured the SRC to cover the relocation costs. It is very important to let the students know that all structures, projects on campus are designed by the architect of the works and the physical and school development. Moreover, the size, estimates and architectural layout of the bus station have not been determined by the CBC. So far, these are the aforementioned reasons why the bus station has been moved.

Besides the bus station, the former leaders of the SRC were accused of corruption during the presentation of a budget of 130,058.5 Ghc for electoral software, allowances, etc.
