FREE ADVICE TO HOPEFULS IN UDS-ALL CAMPUSES

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man is he who listens to counsel - Proverbs 12:15

We have few days to the elections period as circulated by EC's of various departments, associations and the SRC/NUGS.

And like every election, it has already been won or lost:  The messages are out, the student populace are mobilized and Some students have made their minds others haven't.

Judging from the above, some 'hopefuls' I believe have started loosing hope and others are very optimistic of victory, but victory comes from God.

My advice:
1.Don't take a loan to finance your campaign: you will either be in trouble if u loose or you will loot to pay if you win.

2. Be prepared to accept defeat or embrace Victory.

3. Don't over involve your self in campaign or its related activities at the expense of your lectures and handouts, because immediately after the elections (E), there will be another E (exams).

4.Don't insult or hold grudges with your opponents or their supporters - you will still need each other after elections

5. Don't make false promises - previously, some hopefuls have promised to appoint some students to some high positions, but after elections, they play hide and seek..... That is ungratefulness.
Or promises like "I will give u free data sims, when you don't consider how much it will cost"

6. Lady hopefuls, do not 'open your legs' for fake campaign managers, they will just take advantage of you at the expense of your pride... Don't be too desperate for power.

7. Get your logistics ready a week to elections, it will save you from pressure on election day.

8. After you pick nomination forms, fill them well to avoid disqualification..... We don't want to have the elections next academic year.

9. If you are vetted out on fair grounds don't waste your money going to court, just donate it to an orphanage.

10. Don't be afraid of the EC, register your displeasure.

It is easy to advice the wise

"If you think after sticking your stickers on flashy cars you have won elections, ask TUGA and REMIX of Wa campus"

If you think too much talk/Student activism will make you win elections, ask RAMADAN of Nyankpala campus"

" If you think because your name is rhymed in the mouth of almost every student you have won, ask KING BILLY"

"If you think spending too much money/speaking big big English can win elections, ask PRINCE A S"

"If you think incumbency can influence elections, ask BNS"

There is much to wining elections in UDS... Just pray🙏🏽

In writing this piece, I took inspiration from Proverbs 11:14
