Upper west natives demonstrate over autonomy of UDS.

Hundreds of youths from the Upper Region are marching through the principal streets of Wa, upper West regional capital today 3rd November, 2018 to express their discontent in the management of the university for development studies for their failure to implement the *Amoako* report. It is revealed that in 2015, a committee was set up to look into the demand made by the people of Upper West region to grant the UDS Wa campus an autonomy. The committee was chaired by one Mr Amoako who according to an insider has recommended in his report that the WA campus be granted their demand. It’s therefore disheartening to know that 3yrs since that report was submitted to the authorities responsible, nothing has been done about it. It can be oberseved that, the management in Tamale which is the central administration of the school has been making alot of attempts to move some of the programs offered on the WA campus to Tamale campus. Information available to sparknewsgh indicates that more of such demonstrations are in the pipeline. Come 12th November, 2018 Students in Navrongo campus shall be demonstrating against the Flat rate fees they are paying and such demonstration is scheduled for Wa campus, Tamale campus and Nyankpala campus on the 16th November 2018.
