State of Kpabia health facility
Still touring the Sang district, the Levi Mawuli Foundation
on it third day visited a village called Kpabia, an hour drive from the district
capital Sang.
The team visited the health facility of Kpabia, the
structure of the building which looks like an abundant building for a very long
time was serving the people of Kpabia village. The staff complained of lacking
many facilities which are used for treatment of patients and also complained of
not having good road network especially in case of emergency.
The clinic has a computer which is used to send report to
Accra, but that particular computer spoiled and is beyond repairs, the clinic also
has a challenge when it comes to portable water just to even wash their hands
after treatment of patients. The structure of the building is becoming weaker
and weaker and it a threat to human life but these health workers has nowhere
to go except that particular structure.
A room which the heath workers showed the team which they
say it their cool room is very hot just like walking in the sun. the government
of Ghana is trying its best but the foundation hope that philanthropist would
come to the aid of these people to help make a better community for tomorrow.
