Shatta Wale’s ‘Gringo’ wins ‘Best African Music Video’ of the year in Uganda

The king of dancehall in Africa and the president of the Shatta Movement has once again won an international award from Ugandan’s HIP-HOP MUSIC AWARDS, with his last year’s biggest dancehall song ‘Gringo’ which had a lot of impacts both locally and internationally as ‘Best African Music Video’.


The latest win adds to a catalogue of awards Gringo video had already won since it’s released in 2018.
Gringo video is said to be the biggest financed music video in the history of the music industry in Ghana.
He triumph over other African arts like, Patoranking, Yemi Alade, Flavour, Nasty C etc, at just ended Ugandan Music Excellence Awards (Hip-hop Awards).
This is the 7th edition of the hip-hop Music Awards held on Saturday, 16th March 2019 at Kampala Serena Hotel, Uganda.
