NTV Boss To Setup Gbewaa Radio In Yendi
Plans are underway for the establishment of a private radio station in Yendi, the capital of Dagbon Kingdom called Gbewaa Radio.www.TamaleOnline.Net can report.
The station will transmit live in the area and will promote the rich culture of the kingdom, news update on the happenings with the King and activities at the Gbewaa Palace.
This was revealed when the Chief Executive Office of Northern Television (NTV), Prince Siita Sofo Hissan, together with the entire staff of the station on Wednesday, 6th January, 2019 paid a courtesy call on the Overload of Dagbon Kingdom, Yaa Naa Abukari Mahama II at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi.
In addition, Mr. Sofo Hissan also presented ten (10) scholarship parkage to the Yaa Naa to sponsor brilliant but needy students to pursue degree and masters programs at Nungua-based Lawey University in Accra.
The move according to Mr. Sofo Hassan forms part of Progrees and Developmental Agenda of Dagbon Kingdom after protracted chieftency dispute that distracted the progression of the Northern Region.
Mr. Sofo Hissan, an Inventor Consultant and Enterprenue assured the Yaa Naa of his unflinching support to the Kingdom and to attract more investment to the area.
On his part, an elated Yaa Naa Abukari Mahama II commended Prince Siita Sofo and his team for their good works through the NTV Network, and urged the station to continue on the path of promoting Dagbon Culture to the rest of the world.
He welcome the move for the Gbewaa Radiostation and called on sons and daughters of the Kingdom to be part of the new era ofDagbon.
He said;
“The new dawn of Dagbon needs positive support expecially from the media. The need for all to come on board as Dagbonwill need all sons and daughters to revive it to it former glory.”
