CONFIRMED: BARCELONA ANNOUNCE KP BOATENG’S SIGNING IN STYLE (VIDEO)

Boateng moves to Camp Nou on loan for the rest of the current season – an agreement which includes an option to buy for €8m in the summer.

The 31-year-old becomes the first ever Ghanian international to play for the Spanish giants, and will be officially presented to the club’s supporters on Tuesday.

Boateng began his career in Germany for Hertha BSC and has also played for Tottenham Hotspur, Portsmouth, AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke, Eintracht Frankfurt and Sassuolo.
He also has previous experience of playing in LaLiga after scoring 10 goals in 29 games for Las Palmas in the during the 2016/17 season.



Speaking to Sky Italy ahead of the move, he said: “It’s a bit of a sad day, because I leave a fantastic group and a club like Sassuolo that gave me so much.
“Barcelona is a huge opportunity and the emotion is unique. I was very stressed today [Monday], but I wanted to respect Sassuolo.”
And when quizzed about an old interview in which he said he preferred Real Madrid to Barcelona he added: “Don’t ask me about Real Madrid… it’s just the past!”
“I only want to focus on Barcelona and I hope to score at Bernabéu for the next Clásico.”
Boateng becomes second new arrival this month and could make his debut in Wednesday’s Copa del Rey quarter-final clash with Sevilla.
