Whereas many are of the view his designer may not be a Ghanaian, others are still wondering even if it was  done in Ghana and who could be the person behind the beautiful designs that have become the talk of town.
Well, MyNewsGh.com has discovered that Harmony Trends a wholly Ghanaian owned company is behind these designs and caught up with the Manager, Mahama Yussif who told us his story.
We reproduce the transcript of the interview below;
A Rocky Start
My first venture sadly was rough after quitting my job when the financing of it became difficult at the start of 2011. But with the support and encouragement of many of my early clients I built resilience and kept going.
Today the Harmony Trends name is associated with a strict adherence to quality, no matter the cost and I strongly believe that there is no better example of handmade bespoke clothing crafted anywhere else in the world.
I offer a unique VIP service to all my clients and I personally visit you in your home, office or hotel. I can also arrange to see you in my office in Spintex Accra – Ghana.
And there are no standard 9-5 hours, myself and my team of marketers are flexible and I can see you at a time and place that works for you. It is not a service that everyone can afford, but for those who appreciate the best, Harmony is here to offer it.
How it started
At school my only ambition was to become an engineer and I devoted myself to this successfully alongside tailoring and design concept development as a hobby. As an engineer and logistician, I had worked as a stock manager for Olam International, business development manager for Africa Xpress before quitting his job to take on the world with his endless creativity and skills in fashion.
As a teenager I designed for friends and family, working at the back room of high end luxury fashion brands, and therefore acquired his true taste, motivation , hunger and challenge to build Africans number one Afrocentric clothing line. Since then, Harmony Trends has dressed very high profile personalities in and outside Ghana. Gaining the admiration of ace fashion mogul – Oswald Boateng. Harmony trends has also been part of numerous charity events every year.
To harness the potential HT has worked with a number of highly respected fashion houses and companies and learnt areas in the fashion business such as buying, merchandising, pattern design and bespoke tailoring.
With a wealth of experience, and client base, the brand offers its customers limited edition pieces which remains classical and timeless. That’s not to say it was easy…
Having assembled experienced multi-talented 3rd generation tailors with over 40 years of tailoring experience and having the chance to work alongside such immensely talented people made me understand excellent and unique tailoring.
The Harmony Trends DREAM
I’m Mahama Yussif a manager at Harmony Trends and almost certainly Ghana s most finest bespoke tailor.
