Shatta Wale signs agreement with Bashment Music South Africa

Africa’s Dancehall King Shatta Wale has signed an exclusive agreement deal with Bashment Music SA to be his representative in the Southern African Region. Shatta Wale announced via an Instagram post stating: “Any business performance, interviews etc in South Africa Zimbabwe, etc can also be linked to this agent of mine. Thank you.”

Shatta Wale (real name Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr) is the most awarded dancehall artist in Africa and second most awarded musician in Ghana. He releases close to 100 songs each year comprising reggae, dancehall and Afrobeats. In October 2018 the Ghanaian artist released his third studio album, Reign, through Zylofon Music and Shatta Movement Empire and it debuted at number 6 on the Billboard Top World Albums Charts. The multi-award winning artist has been nominated in seven categories, including Artiste of the Year and Album of the Year, at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2019.
In a recent tweet after his electrifying performance at Central University Shatta Wale confidently announced that he will get shows to play every week if he wants to. “Unless I say I won’t do but if I say ago do ,every week ago get show … Now all promoters should come with their offer ..am here waiting but tonite is central university Artiste Night”. South Africans will soon get their turn of experiencing Shatta’s Lively performances after this ground breaking deal with Bashment Music SA as his official Agent in the Southern Africa region.
Bashment Music SA is an entertainment entity that is involved in event management & promotion, artiste management, music production and dancehall juggling launched in 2010. They are behind the successful career of South Africa’s Dancehall King, NC Dread who has made significant in-roads in the African Dancehall scene.
The link between Bashment Music and Shatta Wale started several years ago during their transformation phase from a Sound System to a full on Record label. At the time, they were getting NC Dread into the West African Market and they managed to create meaningful links in Ghana. Their relationship with Shatta has grown from strength to strength over the years as they promoted his music through their sound system juggling and recently as producers of Baddest – Africa’s biggest collaboration song – where Shatta Wale was featured along with other powerhouse artists from 7 African Countries.
Bashment Music SA’s project manager, Xuga who is responsible for bookings and promotion is eager to get the wheels going and confident that Shatta Wale Movement will become a household name in Southern Africa in the same way that it happening in West Africa.
