WA POLY STUDENT ARRESTED FOR POSING AS POLICE OFFICER

Police in Wa have arrested a 29-year-old student of the Wa Polytechnic for posing as a police officer.
Peter Suntaa Winslows was dressed in police uniform when he was arrested at Kpaguri upon a tip-off.
He was later arraigned before the Wa Circuit court and remanded into police custody and to reappear on Tuesday.
”The police spotted the accused person in police uniform with no name tag, no lanyard and no beret at the Mexico drinking spot at Wa Kpaguri with some women suspected to be commercial sex workers,” ACP Peter Ndekugri Anombugri, Deputy Upper West Regional Commander.
The suspect who is a Purchasing and Supply student of the Wa Polytechnic, could not answer a single question in the midst of the alleged commercial sex workers when confronted by the police.
He suddenly took to his heels but was later arrested by the police, ACP Peter Anombugri said.
The suspect told the police upon interrogation that the police uniform was given to him by the Regional Police Band for March 6, 2017 rehearsals.
He, however, did not return it to the police after the programme, but ACP Peter Anombugri stated that their checks revealed otherwise.
