"Life is difficult but I am hopeful we will sail through"- J Derobie
One of the biggest struggle we face as a country is poverty. Poverty has stopped and prevented a lot of people from achieving their dreams.
Fast-rising dancehall artiste Derrick Obuobi Junior, popularly known as J.Derobie, titled his song “Poverty” and explained that he got the inspirations from his observations and experience life and poverty in 2018.
The talented young artiste said, “In life, there are so many downfalls and temptations that come our way because of poverty.”
He added many people around him complained so much about not having money and things are difficult for them. “There is poverty running in our society on low key.”
J Derobie said his friends always praised his music and called them dope but he was always lacking financially to support and promote his music.
The new artiste said in June 2018 he took his time and put all his efforts into writing “Poverty.”
He said his song was written to encourage himself and others not to fall for the temptations poverty brings but to work and fight harder.
He added his song originally did not have a title but he felt poverty was a perfect fit as a title for his song.
J Derobie started trending after his song “Poverty” hit the waves. The song which is about not falling for poverty but working hard to put your name out there has over 200,000 views on YouTube.
Artistes like Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, Popcaan, Samini, and many others have shown support for J. Derobie after his song went viral.
He is signed to Mr. Eazi’s #emPawa100, where 100 underground artistes will be supported in their careers by bringing out some of their songs.
We wish JDerobie all the best in his career and when I see that man called “poverty” I will be sure to kick his a** for bringing so much unhappiness to the world.
