Stop discussing Fancy Gadam and Maccasio, You will lose listeners – Maccasio to Tamale radio presenters
Self-acclaimed rappers’ jack in the Northern music industry, Sheriff Abdul Majeed, widely known in showbiz as Maccasio has thrown a jab at radio presenters in the Northern region risk losing listeners if they stop discussing and playing his songs and those of Fancy Gadam on their entertainment shows.
Maccasio during his term on the mother of drive shows in Northern region, ‘Bugum Beni Drive’ programme, as ‘sit-on-host’ for regular host, DJ Tell as part of the station’s activities marking the Xmas holidays. The two music icons (Fancy Gadam and Macassio) are currently the region’s most popular musicians with a huge loyal fan base.
The battle for supremacy and dominance has led to rivalry between the two and among their fans. Some industry players and radio presenters have berated the two for fueling the rivalry.
But Maccasio sees this as normal, arguing that the industry would be boring if such rivalry did not exist.
“Everywhere there is competition. It makes the entertainment [industry] beautiful and tensed. If there is no competition, the industry would be very boring. It is in soccer; between Chelsea and Man U, Barcelona and Real Madrid, even between [Lionel] Messi and C Ronaldo. Just stop playing the songs of Maccasio and Fancy Gadam or discussing us and see if people won’t [stop listening to you],” he challenged radio presenters.
He urged entertainment show hosts in the region to accord Northern musicians due recognition for their roles in keeping the industry alive.
“You see, those who make you relevant are those you should respect, but they (radio presenters) think we should always worship them. Why can?t they make another Fancy Gadam or Maccasio in the industry? When God blesses people, accept it,” he added.
Maccasio was accompanied by his management and fans to the studios of Radio Tamale.
