It the second edition of the most talked about show Profile brought to you by Ayubadaily.  Our second personality here is Imoro Abdul - Rahim Executive director of Infinite Research Institute.

WHO IS IMORO?

" mans like without visionary leaders consequently will be in the words of Thomas Hobbes -nasty,short and brutish".

Imoro as affectionately called, is no other person than the brain behind the success story of the current Infinite Research Institute.
Imoro is a leader-servant not a leader-master, he is still warm as gold and bold in life. That’s why he is till fold, with many ideas to be implemented as he keep hope alive and still have more to unfold. Yes, the challenges are for us to uphold, for it’s great to be young.
Forgive me for boring you with the preliminary details, in my line of work the hardest is describing a great person, it’s always hard to have your direction set straight but haven’t set it straight lets take about his life so far.
He hails from Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana; yes obviously Imoro Abdul -Rahim is his Surname and First name respectively. Indeed the treasure of a nation lies in its scholars and as the wheel of change keeps its pace education shall continue to be key, that’s to say he started his basic education at Choggu Demonstration Junior High School where he obtained his BECE Certificate, he proceeded to Business Senior High School for his secondary education. Life didn’t end there, he obtained his WASSCE certificate  in 2013 and had admission to University for Development studies, there he was pursuing Integrated Community Development, with  the help of the Almighty, hard work, commitment, dedication and despite the leadership role he was occupying as course rep, that didn’t deter him from graduating with distinction or simply put First class in Diploma in Integrated Community Development in 2016.

I believed the assertion education never ends when I heard he didn’t take a hiatus from the strenuous academic endeavors but went ahead to pursue B.A in Social and Development Administration again at University for Development Studies and currently to graduate in the coming year (2019).

Let’s cruise a little bit about his work experience and school leadership, Yes he loves to work even in school, not only was he Public relations officer for Association of Students of Social and Development Administration (ASSDA), 2017/2018 academic year but doubles as an  Author at uds360.com, for his unique knowledge and love for research it lead him to secure a bulls eye position at Family Health International(FHI360) as a field enumerator from October 2015-August 2016, with the quest to leave a footprint he was again Course rep for Department of Development Studies, UDS (WA-Campus),  2015 – Date, for what seem to be a long journey full of experience and dedication he was again appointed as Public relations officer for Association of Students of Social and Development Administration (ASSDA), 2018/2019 academic year.

HOW COME IMORO RESEARCH INSTITUTE?

Haha I knew it will get to that, society as we see is full of challenges especially in our parts of the world, in fact my whole stay on campus have been about my books and serving my quest to serve the student populace. Somewhere along the line I had the inner urge to contribute to what my indefatigable predecessors have done so I started my way of becoming the local NUGS President.
Politics as usual should be seen as a do or die affair but the quest to contribute and serve to make our world a better place however things didn’t go as plan, despite the love and support the lot didn’t fall on me.
Nonetheless politics or the political institution is an aspect of the larger social institution, so I was there one day after delivering my concession speech to my supporters or those who shared the same vision with me.
In fact, the hardest thing was not me losing the election but the general disappointment on the faces of those who rallied behind me in my quest for this noble political office. Then through whatever unimaginable thought that crossed my mind through the grace of the Almighty I felt why don’t  we put smiles on the faces of this disappointed faces of my supporters by starting something like an institute or an organization where we can still channel our vision to work.

I wanted to maintain the team spirit and the confidence they had in me that’s why we came up with IMORO RESEARCH INSTITUTE to make “team imoro” as affectionately known continue.

WHY THE CHANGE OF NAME?

Change is something that was the world evolves have become constant or what most say there is nothing constant.
You see, we had the dream of  where we can share equal values, views and have equal access, but as the name suggested IMORO RESEARCH INSTITUTE presuppose or was misunderstood by many as more or less about me, meanwhile as started earlier the original conception was to unite all under one umbrella, an umbrella where those that shared the vision can be part and parcel of, and be able to perpetuate this vision even when our bones are rotten and consequently we had INFINITE RESEACH INSTITUTE and as the name suggests it’s not only for our general  but successive generations to come hence the name.

WHAT ARE THE PROJECTS THE ORGANIZATION HAS TAKEN SO FAR?

As a Civil Society Organization our main focus is on research and humanitarian activities.
TREE PLANTING PROJECT AT UDS WA-CAMPUS.

We partnered with Students of Social and Development administration (ASSDA), UDS SDG Club, and Young Africa Great Mind Group and we are proud to announce that our partner Young Africa Great Mind was on 3rd November,2018 which is very current was awarded under the auspices of the National Youth Authority in the Upper West Region.

The organization in recent months gave assistance to an MPhil student to conduct a research at the Tamale Metropolis. The research was centered on residence around cemeteries and the development of the region.

DEBATE, MENTORING AND PUBLIC SPEAKING

Since inception and incorporation of the organization in accordance with the Companies Act 179(1963), the organization has continuously mentored and trained individuals with much focus on Students of University for Development Studies to master the act of public speaking, mentoring and advocacy every Sunday at Hall 3B of the University’s campus.
Despite the challenges every organization faces, IRI have been able to imbibe the spirit of constructively engaging its members on debates and discussions on pressing issues in Ghana and beyond using the British Parliamentary Style of Debate. It’s one of its kind to be spearheaded by a vibrant organization like Infinite Research Institute.

HUMAN RIGHT

The organization was privileged to have two of its members shortlisted after a competitive process to be enrolled as members of West African Peace Ambassadors Network (WAPAN) a network group with stakeholders across West Africa which is based in Ghana.
After what seem to be a fierce intellectual training and discourse our representatives made it to the top and were later awarded certificates of merit. The program was largely centered on Peace Studies, Conflict resolution, application of peace mechanisms inter alia.
As dedicated and committed we are as advocates of change through human right, we again had the opportunity of having our public relation officer(PRO) undertaking Gender equality Project in Egypt under the auspices of AIESEC another international organization, the duties of the project included delivering lectures on women empowerment, proposing ways to eliminate all harmful practices against the child, early and forced marriage, female genital mutilation among others.

FUTURE PLANS

As the last quarter of the year is yet to end, we felt as organization we should put smiles on specific places that have been neglected by a larger session of our society, that’s  we shall be embarking on a humanitarian tour to the to make donations and specific orphanage in the Upper West Region.

Next year is coming to be a year full of activities from Infinite Research Institute especially in the first quarter, I will give you a clue nonetheless and I must say it’s going to be across all the ten regions.
Our team also completed our 10 year development plan and we can confidently say we shall enter the future with innovation, greater opportunities, international exposures among others.
